The Vasteras Iron Eagles have lost in heartbreaking fashion in the Renaissance Cup Finals just two seasons ago, then last year losing in the semi finals after winning the wildcard round. This has led to questions about the Iron Eagles future. With their main core all graduating to the VHL, what was left of that championship caliber team’s core is gone. What now? Vasteras will have to undergo a clear rebuild, and rumors of GM Zach Arce’s status remains in the air. Will this be Arce’s last season GMing in Vasteras? Signs are pointing to yes but there is a whole season ahead. Arce had acquired a bunch of potential future prospects I the S86 draft, but what if this season? The Iron Eagles took a gamble in taking Yaroslav Bogatyrev in the first round as he may be VHL bound, but could it pay off?
