On November 6th, the VHLE draft took place. Leading into it, the trio of John Richards, Lachlan Summers, and Sadie St-Louis was nervously awaiting to see where they would be picked. Before the draft began, they were all sitting together as they were all top prospects coming into the draft. They were all hoping to be drafted to the same team, and as the draft started it only felt more and more dramatic. Sadie was picked 5th overall, the first of the trio to go- Stockholm had selected her. Lachlan Summers heard his name called 9th- happy to be selected but disappointed that all three friends were not going to play together, he turned to give his husband Frankie a hug before going to the stage. When he got up to the stage, it was announced that there was a trade swapping goaltenders between Istanbul and Stockholm and that Lachlan would actually be going to Stockholm. Needing only John to complete the trio, Stockholm selected him with the 13th pick and the brilliant drafting and trading of MubbleFubbles, the Stockholm GM, ensured a fun upcoming year for these three.
