AJW 2,196
Hello and welcome to week 2's edition of "The Houston News" Today I will be covering a lot of topics including a captains reveal, 3 stars of the week, new additions, and much more. I hope you enjoy the read and can get caught up on the Houston Bulls of the VHLM. Captains Reveal Captain Shadow Thompson - @Kelsey Shadow Thompson is entering their second season with the Houston Bulls and rightfully deserves the role of team captain. Thompson was drafted 70th overall to Las Vegas in S85 just before being quickly traded to Houston. In S85 Thompson was a key leader for our team, starting in 57/72 games for us while being one of our assistant captains. It was a tough season to play through as the team was going through a rebuild, but Thompson was there for the whole ride with only positive thoughts and attitude. Thompson is projected to start all 72 games this season for Houston and will be a big contributor to our success this season. Assistant Captains Ray Alexander - @TheRoyalEmpoleon Ray Alexander is a new face to the Houston organization this season after signing to the team off of waivers, and quickly planting their seed as a leader to this team. Alexander has been an active voice in the locker room this season and is currently the team's top points leader. Alexander not only shows their leadership in the locker room, but leads by example through their play. Grunkle Stan-dingyouup - @Big Newff Grunkle Stan-dingyouup is another new face in Houston this season. After being drafted to the team 36th overall in the S86 draft, Stan-dingyouup has been looked at to be a top performer for the Bulls not only this season, but for future seasons to come. Big Newff is not new to the Houston organization though. Their former player was a main reason for the success Houston had in S84. We trust Stan-dingyouup and believe they deserve to wear the A this season. New Additions! We had a couple new faces join the Houston Bulls this past week! Three skaters joined the Bulls organization from waiver signings, including two forwards and one defenseman. Welcome to the family! The Eastern Conference will have a good look at the Bulls this week as 10 out 14 of Houston's game will be against the opposite conference. Houston is currently 2-4-0 against the Eastern Conference this season, meaning we will need to pull up our socks if we want to go above .500. Miami will be the main rivals this week as the two teams will face off against each other four times. Great work Raph! And for the rest of the team too, great job on staying consistent and updating weekly! We had a 9-way tie for second most TPE earned, with only 2 out of 12 players on the team not updating this week. 83% of the team is putting in the work each week to make this team the best we can be! : Jeff Beukeboom jr @Raph98 11 TPE : 9 way tie - 6 TPE That'll do it for week 2 of "The Houston News"! Houston finishes off the first week of the season with a 4-6-2 record and lots of room for improvement. We aren't slowing down anytime soon and are extremely excited for week 2 to start. I hope to see you all again for next week's news!
