Gaikoku-hito 2,134
While I am sure most are going to be very positive when talking about first gen players, I decided to look at them more like the good kids in the class room aspect. The problem with good first gen players is simply the fact that they learned to do everything that is expected of them. And that is of course the problem!! The secret sorrows and future difficult of these first gen players begin with their inner needs for excessive compliance. They are good not because of a quirk in nature but rather they have no inclination to be anything else. They are good as they have no other option. Their goodness is a necessity rather than a choice. There are many reasons why the good first gen player might be good but at the end of the day they are only looking for hope to gain a sliver of interest from the VHL, VHLE & VHLM general managers. This produces a short-term obedience, but can store up frustration and they should be treated as the danger they are. The Good First Gen player is a keeper of secrets and appalling communicator of unpopular but important things. They are experts at satisfying the expectations of their General Manager or audience, but their real thoughts are locked away. Some might even generate twitches, sudden outbursts and bitterness. The Sickness of the Good First Gen is the fact that they have no experience of simply being bad. They miss out on the privileges of being greedy, envious and a egomaniac as they view these traits as not being tolerated or bad. As a Good First Gen, the player follows the rules, never make trouble and take care not to try to annoy anyone, but following the rules doesn`t get you very far. Almost everything interesting, worth doing or important will be met with some degree of opposition. A great idea will always be met by disappoint certain individuals; yet might be very much worth holding onto. The Good First Gen is likely to throw away great ideas due to the disapproval of the few. This lead usually to a career of mediocrity and sterile people pleasing. Being a proper First Gen is about being Frank, unfrightened of their own dark, complex ambitions. Accept that not everything involves making your General Managers happy or you will be honor bound; stuck, sterile and have your career killed. The desire to be a good first Gen is a great thing but in order to have a genuinely good career in the VHL, we may sometimes need to be fruitfully and bravely bad!! (By the standards of the good First Gen) What does this mean? Explore the league as you want to explore the league. What to play a full career in the VHLM or the VHLE? Then simple put do so. Want to create a huge fighting defender that throws thunders hits and spends more time sitting in the penalty box rather than the teams bench? Then do so!! Hold out if you don`t like the team that signed you, force trades, and by all means test UFA! Be Brave and be that Bad player as I think you will find it more fun in the long run!! How do I know this? Because I just explained myself as the Good First Gen!! That has only really signed for two teams now in two full careers as that is what is expected of my player but I think my next player I am going to create chaos; yeah, but I am the good First Gen so we all know that isn`t going to happen!! Play the league the way that you want and you enjoy your time here even if you create a few disappointed or disapproving General Managers!! 641 words – Claimed next week as I have a multiple claim finishing this week.
