GioSivo 167
With the commencement of the VLHM Founder's Cup playoffs also came the beginning of the end of the Hounds season. Having just barely squeaked into the playoffs with a five game losing streak at the end of the season, their early departure from the playoffs really came as no surprise. The late arrivals of Jasper Davis and Francesco Mancini brought a glimmer of hope, though even with Davis' near point per game performance the Hounds could not pull it together and continued to nosedive even into the playoffs. It was no help that they faced the San Diego Marlins, who had not just been excellent throughout the season, but ended with a record of 8-2-0 in their last 10 games. Logan Foley was the leading point scorer for the Hounds with 97 in the regular season, and was also the leading goal scorer with with 42. Austin Goulet led the team in assists with 62 on the season. Goaltender Maius Wagner obtained 29 wins with a .908 SV% with a 3.5 GAA. While a high draft pick will undoubtedly help the hounds, Davis and Mancini are entering the VHLM draft and may not be returning to Mississauga next season. The Hounds future lies in the outcome of the upcoming draft, for better or for worse. jacobcarson877 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/131356-who-let-the-dogs-out-mississaugas-lackluster-performance/ Share on other sites
