Moderator Tetricide 694 Posted January 1, 2023 Moderator Share Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) Hello, World! Welcome back to another long-awaited episode of Between the Periods! I'm your host, Bobbus Dingus, here with my new friend Leonard S. Kinnard! Leonard here has been a manager for some years now, but is new to the VHL scene. He first started playing as a star forward, made a wild decision to start coaching, and has been working up the ranks in management. His first appearance was representing Team USA in the season 85 World Junior Championship, is currently the assistant general manager of the prestigious Calgary Wranglers in the VHL, and has been re-selected to represent a team in the WJC! Welcome to the show, Leo! Spill the beans for us! Thank you fer havin' me! You know, I don't really do much interviewin' outside official agencies, but we have a mutual friend that I owe a favor to. Anyway, yeah that's right! Back-to-back GMin' fer the WJC to get more time under my currently lightweight belt to show I've got what it takes to eventually manage a team of my own in a regular season. The interview with the WJC commission has always been pleasant and we had an understandin' that I wanted to do somethin' a bit out of my comfort zone and that's what they gave me. So, fer season 86 of the WJC I'll be GMin' Team Asia! I feel like there's a lotta untapped talent out there and I fully intend to hook a 2-compartment sink into that talent and let it flow. Wow! Leo, you certainly have a way with words! Also, congratulations on pretty much taking on a team that you wanted for the WJC. Do you have any concern or doubts about the success you can help bring for Team Asia? Honestly, I'd be crazy if I didn't. Look, last season, GMin' Team USA had me both anxious and excited. I had never done anythin' like this...not at this level. I didn't even think I'd get the job! The best part though, Bob? I couldn't've asked fer a better team. Seriously! I hope I can pull together another fun crew of incredible athletes like that again, and if not? Shoot, ain't no thing but a chicken wing. I just hope everyone has a good time, win or lose. Leo, you seem like just the kind of guy to get the job done no matter what! I'm not trying to brag about you here, but your first WJC you got USA all the way to 2nd place! Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if you were able to bring Asia all the way to 1st. Now tell me, any uh...sneak peak info you can give us about the roster? All kind words! Thank ya, but no. No can do. 'Fraid that's classified until the official announcement. The system of selectin' players fer this team is much different than doin' it fer Team USA. So, fer now it's just a waitin' game and when everyone's got their rosters done, we'll have an official announcement fer ya. Understandable! What are your plans for the future in the VHL? In the near future when I feel I'm ready, I'd love to GM a VHLM team. I've always been the mentorin' type and a lot of these young folk need help steerin' the right direction. I don' really have any particular team in mind, but I feel like that's my next home. That's definitely something I can see you in! Thank you for taking time out of your busy day for this interview and I appreciate what you do so far for the VHL! You know somethin', Bob? I don't understand why Kauppi can't stand you. You're a pretty cool guy in my book. Thanks fer the invite and please feel free to reach out fer future interviews! 634 words, claiming for week ending January 8, 2023.
