A late addition to the Mexico City Kings in S86; Stauffer enters the offseason as a VHLM Draftee. Unlike some draft eligible players in the VHLM – scouts got to see a trial period of Stauffer in the league as he played 8 games with the Kings to end the season and played a big part of their playoff run where they lost to the eventual Champion Marlins in Round Two. Stauffer showed incredible development in that short time as he had an impressive playoff performance scoring two goals from the blueline.

At 6'3, Stauffer is surprisingly not a physical presence on the backend but he is an excellent skater and is very adept at moving with the puck and moving the puck and is a sound defender. His offense is still in development but scouts should definitely be high on this defensemen despite his agency being mostly only known for representing Basketball players with their most successful player being Chet Manley who most hockey fans have never heard of for a reason. Reports have surfaced that "multiple teams have held draft interviews with Stauffer in the past week".

Stauffer talked to the Media amidst his participation in the Junior Showcase Tournament on the upcoming draft and his exclusion from the Team Europe roster in the upcoming World Junior Championships...

"I'm not excited about the draft like most, I be much more comfortable staying in Mexico. Other teams been very nice in talks and I will happily play where I go. I want to stay in Mexico though..."

"A bit surpise that I was not on Team Europe. Expect to go next time. Hope team does well and will cheer them on still. Just getting ready for the new season and working hard towards getting to the VHL soon. Lots to work on yet."

Stauffer has one more season to go before being eligible for the VHL Draft where he expects to be drafted, currently his draft stock is on the lower side but lots can change in another season.
