Daryl Dixon has been training all off-season for his rookie season in Helsinki. He is coming into the team as one of the top players which is intimidating but also kind of exciting. His training has hit an all time high and he is looking to chase the Rookie of the Year honors. His experience in Helsinki thus far has been overwhelming as he has been greeted with high praise from the organization, teammates and most importantly the fans.

He was picked up from the airport with a limousine. Inside the limousine was his head coach, GM, AGM and a few Helsinki players from the previous season. This was a lot for young Daryl Dixon to take in but they were extremely welcoming and made him feel like this team was his for the taking. The treatment he received only made him want to work harder to be the next leader for this team. Daryl set some expectations for himself in his rookie season.

First, he wants to become a locker room favorite. He wants his teammates to feel like they can come to Dixon about anything and to know that he is going to be putting in the work to help them on and off the ice. The culture that is built in the locker room is what makes the game so fun and that is going to be a big factor for Daryl this season. He is going to be joined by his brother Rick Grimes and the two of them will keep the locker room light and fun while the Titans push through this rebuild.

Secondly, Rookie of the Year! I wasn't kidding when I said Daryl has kicked his training into high gear. He is leading this team and the season hasn't even started yet. Other teammates are starting to follow suit and that is huge. With the team being starved for depth and talent, this will give Dixon every opportunity he needs to have an explosive season right off the bat. Of course, its a team game and wins will always come before personal gain but winning that award will be in the back of his mind all season long.

It is going to be a tough season for the Helsinki Titans but they can at least take comfort knowing they have some special talent on their team including Daryl Dixon. He hopes to be a bright spot for this team moving forward and MAYBE that will draw more interest in others playing for Helsinki in the future.
