What is happening to Warsaw? At one point they were 2nd in Europe, and heading nowhere up, but now they are 2nd last in Europe and only doing worse from here. Is it time for Warsaw to panic? Is it time for a rebuild? The team had 2 players that nobody was able to reach no too long ago, now they are trailing in the points race. Will Warsaw even make the playoffs this season? These are a lot of questions, and a lot of people have been asking them.

The Warsaw team has been really struggling lately, and being 4 points out of a playoff spot, this team is not looking confident, they really need another good push before the end of the season. One issue that has been pointed out is that Warsaw is playing down a game, and has been for quite some time, but without the team only 1 game off of the rest of the league, this could only give them 2 points at most, that still wont put them in a playoff spot. The team simply needs to play better, and with only 7 points away from 2nd in Europe, the chance that the they can get there again is only 4 wins. This conference is extremely close with only a few points separating every team, so some worry will need to be there, but panic? No. However, they must also pick up their game intensity as the playoffs will need that team that’s on fire to really win.

2 Warsaw players, Biggie Cheese, and Brendan Marner were well above any other player in the league with points overall for Brendan Marner being upwards to 10 points ahead and defensive points for Biggie Cheese, and in Brendan Marners case, league leader in goals too. The 2 players seemed unstoppable, up until the games stopped going their way. Brendan Marner stopped producing goals and Biggie Cheese slowed as well, this allowed the rest of the league to catch up to their point totals, and to over take them. The 2 players were very upset by it and made another push to overtake the point leads again. Brendan Marner is still trailing in the point category and dropped big time in the goals category, but Biggie Cheese came out and took that number one spot in front of all other defense once more, well at least tied it. If these two players can find their flare again, we might see the wins start up once again.

The last 2 questions are, will Warsaw make the playoffs, and that is simply impossible to say. The team is not playing well, but with the close race in Europe anything could happen. Remember the team has some of the best players in the league so it would be a surprise if they did skip out on it. The second question is, are they a rebuild team, and the answer is simple, no. Europe is the toughest conference and most teams that really should make the playoffs might actually miss. With the talent Warsaw has, they cannot be considered a rebuild until at least the end of the Marner and Kisslinger Saga.

Article review, outside of a few technical issues with the writing in this article, this article expresses the shock and disappointment of a team that is used to being guaranteed a playoff spot to sitting just on the edge and not knowing if this is the year they will watch from the outside.  Having 2 players who are offensive powerhouses no longer is enough in the European conference, it takes an entire team and a lot of work.  We will need to see how it all shakes out and the dust settles but reality is Warsaw may be watching from the outside.  On the other hand they may see a strong push in the last games and end up being the cause of somebody else's disappointment.  This is going to be an exciting push to the end in the VHL this season.  I give this article a 7/10.
