GioSivo 167
Francesco Mancini #29 Position - LW Age: 19 - Height: 5' 8" - Weight: 152 lbs Current Team - San Diego Marlins Birthplace: Milan, Italy Mancini being drafted by San Diego Marlins in the S87 draft. Francesco Mancini began play in the VHLM 10 games before the end of the S86 season, signing with the Mississauga Hounds. In the 10 regular season games and 4 playoff games played with the Hounds he scored a total 3 points, scoring 1 goal and 2 assists. Despite his lackluster debut, after the Junior Showcase Tournament and the S87 VHLM draft he found immediate success and kept up a near one point per game average, with 68 points, scoring 30 goals and 38 assists, leading the Marlins in power play goals, with 10. While he shoots very often he is also a capable playmaker and is able to move the puck well. On the powerplay he's unbeatable, leading the Marlins in power play goals. He also has proven to be disciplined, having the lowest amount of penalty minutes on the Marlins and one of the lowest in the VHLM. He can also backcheck if needed and is able to play a pretty decent two way game, while still managing to contribute offensively, overall a very well rounded player.Weaknesses Mancini seems to have quite a considerable mental weakness. While normally disciplined, if he does get angry, as he did in the Junior Showcase Tournament, he goes overboard, as he garnered 22 penalty minutes in just one game, getting into multiple fights and being issued a game misconduct. However, this kind of outburst from Mancini has only happened once, but it is something to note. He is also easily frustrated with himself, a perfectionist at heart, Mancini wants to play well and contribute ideally, however if that doesn't happen and he plays poorly, he tends to become quite frustrated with himself. Conclusions Overall, Mancini brings much to the table, being a disciplined and capable two-way playmaker who has more than proven himself to be in the top of the S88 draft class. His future is far from set in stone, but he appears to be quite the promising player and is sure to be a great asset to any team he plays for. He's currently expected to be a top 10 pick in the upcoming S88 draft, though first he has one last run in the VHLM with the San Diego Marlins in the Founder's Cup Playoffs, before he'll be entering the VHLE and VHL drafts.
