Many expected that the result of the series between the Vancouver Wolves and the Seattle Bears would be a foregone conclusion. The Bears, who scrapped their way into the playoffs were unlikely to offer a fight to the runaway conference leaders, the Vancouver Wolves.

Well, British Columbia was in for a shock after the first two games of the Conference Semi-Finals. The Bears, came into Vancouver and left with a 2-0 series lead as the match-up heads back to the United States.

Who is leading the charge for the Seattle Bears? None other than star goaltender Dusty Wilson, whose exploits were vital for the Seattle side to get through their Wild Card contest with the Chicago Phoenix. In Game 2, a double overtime victory for the Bears, Wilson stopped a ridiculous 74 of the 77 shots he faced, including 30 in the extra frames.

Another factor has been Yaroslav Bogatyrev. The young Russian forward only had one point in the five Wild Card games against the Chicago Phoenix. However, the Big Boga has three points through two games against the Wolves, including two assists in the 4-3 double overtime victory in Game 2.

The Wolves are clearly going to regroup and try something different in Games 3 and 4, but for now, the Bears look to be back where they belong.
