Zyn Westwood Off to Slow Start

Words: 190

Over the weekend, University of Michigan standout Zyn Westwood finished his collegiate career and signed with the Las Vegas Aces of the VHLM. His decision came down to a few teams but Westwood felt like his fit with Las Vegas made the most sense and would yield the most playing time to develop his game.

Westwood has since played in 4 VHLM games with the Aces and his production has been very slow out of the gate. In these four games, he has 0 goals and 0 assists but has contributed 10 hits and 10 shots on goal. Playing exclusively on the third line, Westwood clearly will need to work his way up the ranks in the Aces organization. Here is what he had to say after his first VHLM games:

Quote

“It’s been a difficult start, I’m not going to sugar coat it. The speed of the game is different than the college level so I am trying to adjust to that the best I can. It will take me a few more games to get comfortable with everything and then I am confident I can start contributing more offensively.”
