Zyrok 173
Miroslav was born and raised in Spain, although went to Slovenia at the age of 3 and was raised by Slovenian parents. Slovenia is a country where hockey is not the most popular sport. However, he was always drawn to the game, and began playing as a young child. He quickly developed a passion for hockey, spending countless hours practicing his skills on outdoor rinks and dreaming of one day playing professionally. As he got older, Miroslav's talent on the ice began to attract attention from scouts and coaches, both in Slovenia and abroad. Eventually, he was offered a spot on a minor league team in the United States, Mexico City Kings, an opportunity that he could not pass up. Moving to the US was a big adjustment for Miroslav. He had never been away from home for an extended period of time, and had to adapt to a new language, culture, and way of life. However, he was determined to succeed as a hockey player, and worked tirelessly to improve his skills and learn the nuances of the game in the US. Playing in the minor leagues will definitely be a challenging experience for Miroslav. The competition is fierce as he was told by his coaches back at Slovenia and the coaches he was being recruited by, and the physical demands of the game were unlike anything he had experienced before, as at the moment of him being recruited he weighted at 170lbs and the recruiters told him that he needed to get to 200lbs before getting to the states. However, he persevered, and slowly but surely began to make the improvements and strides towards being the prospect Halifax 21st needed, got into the weight room and practiced extra hours in order to keep up with the talent from overseas. The first thing he was told after arriving to the states was that due to his late arrival, he wouldn't be able to play until midseason due to some registration problems, he took that challenge as an opportunity to learn eve more about the game he loved, and improved significantly both physically and technically, ready to make his debut whenever possible. Off the ice, Miroslav faced other challenges as well. He missed his family and friends back home in Slovenia, and struggled to adapt to the fast-paced, often isolating lifestyle of a professional athlete. However, he found solace in his teammates, who quickly became like a second family to him. Over time, Miroslav's hard work began to pay off. He became one of the top players on his team, and scouts from higher-level leagues began to take notice of his talent. He was eventually offered a spot on a team in the American Hockey League, a major step up from the minor leagues. He was still striving for his long lasting dream, the dream of playing in the VHL and he knew that his best shot at that was to start playing in the VHLM, and not only play but to exceed all expectations and become that generational talent that he knew VHL scouts were looking for, so he took all the difficulties as a challenge, as the obstacles that he had to overcome in order to fulfill his dream, and of course, he was not going to stop at anything. He felt like in every training session, he became a better player, improving his long shots, his puck handling, landing better hits, as facing off against his teammates and the competition that they brought were making him a better player, but he was still not playing, and he knew that in order to achieve his full potential, he needed to compete against other teams, other players, and get VHL and VHLE scouts to see him in action in a game. That is when he received his next big news: his debut date was released by the VHLM commissioner and he will be finally able to play Despite the challenges he faced along the way, Miroslav never lost sight of his passion for hockey. He continued to play with dedication and heart, always striving to improve and help his team succeed. And even though he was far from home, he found a sense of belonging on the ice, a place where he could express himself fully and be part of something bigger than himself. Miroslav's story is a testament to the power of dedication, hard work, and perseverance. He faced numerous challenges on his journey to become a professional hockey player in the United States, but he never gave up on his dreams. And in the end, his determination and talent paid off, allowing him to achieve his goals and fulfill his passion for the game he loves. Even though he hasn't played a single minute on the ice, he has already brought much attention to him by broadcasting his story as one of the next up and coming prospects from Europe, and he was told that almost every VHL and VHLE teams will be looking into him on the next few games, so he knows that he has to put up a show on his debut... will he be able to live up to they hype? Or will he crumble under the pressure? word count: 874 Edited April 22, 2023 by Zyrok AJW, Frank and Subject056 2 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/135384-the-journey-of-young-miroslav/ Share on other sites
