Another season bites the dust.

As another season ends, fans and analysts reflect on the triumphs, challenges, and unforgettable moments that unfolded over the past season.

The conclusion of a season brings a sense of closure, allowing us to evaluate the performances, achievements, and setbacks of the past. It provides an opportunity to celebrate the successes and recognize the efforts and dedication of those involved.

In the VHL, we had a new storyline developing for the Goncalves as the younger sister of Leandro, Catia, found her way onto the ice. As the trade deadline passed and the S90 draftees rushed the VHLM, Catia took her talents to Houston and signed a one-season contract with the Bulls.

With only 22 games to find her way to a stacked lineup, Catia managed only to score 3 points. But more importantly, she gained respect and appreciation from the Bulls' structure and around the league. Although the Bulls found their way to the playoffs, they couldn't make enough of a difference and fell in just four games.

Her brother Leandro cemented himself as one of the best players in the league. Leandro elevated his game and contribution in the ever-offensively stacked Calgary Wranglers. He finished the regular season with career highs in points, shots, hits, shots blocked, game-winners, and all-around special teams' influence.

Although this was Leandro's story during the regular season, the Wrangler couldn't find himself in the playoffs, and his contribution to the team faltered. The Calgary team managed to find their way to the Conference Finals, where they met a better Seattle team that beat them in 6. Of course, that isn't Leandro's fault, but one has to wonder... should a player of his caliber have a better impact on the ice?

Last but not least, Zef Goncalves, the incumbent VHLE Champions General Manager, Cologne Express. After another brilliant season, the Cologne Express found their nemesis in the first round of the playoffs. Sometimes there are things that you cannot explain, but that's the beauty of hockey. That's what makes us root for a team like London United, who fought hard to make the playoffs and find themselves in the Continental Cup Finals. In this case, for the fourth season in a row, the Express found Oslo Storm in the playoffs, and for the third time... they've been beaten by the Norwegian team. This doesn't take a single thing from the brilliance of Zef's work, but it seems like there's a cloud over Cologne every time they meet the Oslo team. Now there are rumors of changes coming, but we'll leave them at that until there's any confirmation from the team itself or any of the league's commissioners.

Another season is now in the books, but the story continues. The chapters may change, and the characters may evolve, but the essence of the season - the spirit of competition, the pursuit of excellence, and the shared experiences - remains constant. We can't wait to see what the next season will bring for the Goncalves family, but we'll be sure to tune in!
