Westwood reflects on first regular season

The first VHLE regular season is in the books for rookie winger Zyn Westwood of the Geneva Rush. All things considered, it was a strong opening campaign for Westwood and his team. On a personal note, he tallied 70 points in 72 games played including 28 goals and 42 assists. For most of the season he played on the first line wing and first unit penalty kill. Producing at nearly a point per game clip while not have any power play minutes is definitely something he should be pleased with. The Rush as a team finished with a strong record of 46-22-4 which was good for second in the VHLE.

“I was overall happy with my first year in the VHLE. I felt I got off to a little bit of a slow start but as the season went on I really found my legs. My personal goal was to score at least 30 goals this season and be at a point per game, which I fell just short of. We’re excited as a team to get going in the playoffs and we really feel like we have a team that can win the championship.”
