I like the render, very detailed and nice punch to make his face stand out. The background serves it's purpose, simple and not boring but not distracting. I like the text with the gradient. For the most part it has what it takes to be very good. I think for me, the NHL branding really takes away from this graphic and the formatting is off. The balance could be better if the render was maybe pushed inward a bit and maybe slightly larger. The text could be lower and that would at least put you in a format that has some balance.
