European Conference after the First week!??!!?

European Conference

 

1^st      Prague Phantoms               10 – 4 – 0                    20pts

Prediction:      2^nd   European Conference

Reason: Schedule favors Prague heading into the second week with games against Calgary, DC and New York. Toughest games come from in conference play with Riga and Helsinki providing a challenge.

 

 

 

 

2^nd        Riga Reign                          9 – 3 -1                        20pts  

Prediction:    3^rd European Conference

Reason: Again, a schedule that will favor Riga as they play New York, Moscow with the same situation as Prague with the toughest games coming from in conference play against Malmo and Prague.

 

           

 

 

3^rd      HC Davos Dynamo             9 – 4 – 1                      19pts

Prediction:      1^st  European Conference

Reason: Davos will play only three teams this week with Chicago, Seattle and Vancouver. With all three teams playing around 0.500 hockey, I can see HC Davos winning the majority of the games while Riga and Prague could take points off each other. 

 

 

 

 

4^th      Helsinki Titans                   8 – 5 – 1                      17pts

Prediction:     4^thEuropean Conference

Reason: This week will simply come down to the three games against Toronto this week. If Helsinki can split or better than they could hold onto 4^th in the Conference. Malmo game will also be huge for the standing at the end of the week.

 

 

 

 

5^th       Malmo Nighthawks           6 – 6 – 2                      14pts

Prediction:       5^thEuropean Conference

Reason: Too much ground to make up and mixed bag of a schedule; not to mention inconsistent play dropping games to Warsaw and just beating Calgary to start the week. Also finish with tough double header against Riga.

 

 

 

 

6^th       London United                   5 – 7 – 2                      12pts  

Prediction:    8^thEuropean Conference

Reason: Schedule could be tough with LA, Toronto, Seattle and Vancouver games ahead so will be in tough to finish the week playing 0.500 hockey. Huge game against Malmo if they are going to move up the standings. I just cannot seem them playing 0.500 hockey against what should be the top four teams in the North American Conference.

 

 

 

 

7^th       Moscow Menace               5 – 8 – 1                      11pts              

Prediction:     6^th European Conference

Reason: The week will come down to the three games against Warsaw; if they can sweep the games than they could move up the standings; add in a game against New York and I could see them jump London but more likely a split games against Warsaw means they are unlikely move up.

 

 

 

 

8^th        Warsaw Predators             5 – 9 – 0                      10pts

Prediction:   7^thEuropean Conference

Reason: Tough to call as mention in the reason provided for Moscow as the schedule are very similar considering they are playing each other as they both also get a game against New York but with upsetting Malmo today and game against them again this week; Warsaw might just jump ahead of Moscow and could even jump London the more I look at it.
