Diego Machado has finally made the jump from the VHLM to the VHLE Joining the Stockholm Vikings for the S90 season of the VHL. While coming of a solid last season in the VHLM getting 34 goals 33 assists for 67 points in 72 games, Diego hopes to improve on those numbers and hopes to make playoffs for the first time in his VHL career. While at the start of the VHLE season Diego was not at the tpe cap so it did give him time to grow for the first 2 weeks before he reached the 400 tpe mark so it gave Diego time to improve his game at the mid way point of the season and should lead to him having another successful personal season. So far in the regular season Diego has not disappointed in the point column putting up 63 points in 72 games although for his personal opinion having a -7 +- doesn't make him to thrilled and he prides himself on being the on the ice for more goals for than against as this makes him feel like he is hurting the team more than helping the team even if the goals against aren't directly his fault. The goal that Diego Machado had for this season was to improve on the personal success he had last season on the Saskatoon Wild and become a leader in the locker room to finally make the playoffs. The way Diego worked in the offseason before the season improving in many areas but there are some he decided for focus on a bit more. One of the ones Diego felt was important to improve was his defensive play, Deemed in the world of vhl one of the most important areas to be good in for offensive and defensive reasons Diego made sure to ensure it was one of the things he got to at least get to slightly above league average. The second one the Diego wanted to focus on is stick handling as its one that will help make plays and keep control of the puck when he has it leading to more goals for the team when he is on the ice. Although Diego's stay in the VHLE may be short he is very much looking forward to improving his skills and hopefully taking home some silverware before he makes the jump to the VHL Toronto Legion next season.
