scoop 3,426
Currently sitting at 999 TPE with Jacob Stone, writing this article will put me over the 1000 TPE mark. I have gotten there a bit quicker than calculated, thanks to giveaways and variance in fantasy performance. While I don't anticipate breaking the TPE record set by Nico Pearce, I starting to feel more confident that I'll have a chance at Xavier Booberry's mark. Before I look at how long it took the two of them to reach 1000, I do first want to compare how I am doing with Stone to how things went with my previous player, Taylor Mourning. Currently, we are in the penultimate week of Stone's third season. At this point in Mourning's career, I was at 710 TPE. It took until a couple weeks into my sixth season to reach 1000 TPE. Back then, I wasn't chasing 2000+ TPE, and considering the greatly diminishing benefits of earning TPE later on, I did not care so much that I became a 'clicker' for a good portion of his career. With Stone, however, I am looking to get near the top of the career TPE charts, which is something I've never really focused on before with any player. That being said, let's take a look at how long it took some other players to reach 1000 TPE. I'll be going by calendar weeks from when the first update was to when they passed 1000 TPE. The current TPE totals do not include any pending updates. Player First Week 1000 TPE Week Weeks to 1000 Current TPE Remaining Seasons Nico Pearce 08/29/21 07/03/22 44 2206 0 Xavier Booberry 06/20/21 04/17/22 43 2104 0 Ronan Lavelle 11/28/21 10/02/22 44 2001 0 Landon Wolanin 01/23/22 11/13/22 42 1965 1 Molly the Cat 04/17/22 02/19/23 44 1607 2 John Jameson 06/26/22 04/02/23 40 1518 3 The Frenchman 07/31/22 05/14/23 41 1386 4 Mac Atlas 10/09/22 08/13/23 44 1210 5 Jacob Stone 12/18/22 10/08/23 42 991 6 On the list are all the draft class leaders from S80 through S88. Pearce, Booberry, and Lavelle are all retired, so their TPE totals are final. That trio holds the top three spots in career TPE, though Wolanin is sure to pass at least Lavelle during the coming season. It could very well be that by the time I pass Booberry (if I do) it will not even be to get into the top five. While I don't think Molly the Cat will reach that mark, everyone else on this list with time remaining has a real shot. Of course, as one's career goes on, there is less reward in earning TPE, so unless these players all have it in mind that they want the top five, it would be easy to slow down their gains in the last season, when you have nothing to bank for and 50 more TPE will really only get you a couple more attribute points. Do I think anyone has a shot at Pearce? It's hard to say. I don't know what career point tasks people may have left, or how many Uncapped TPE packages they will be buying. I also don't feel like counting the weeks to see if Wolanin might get in a Christmas giveaway before retirement. What I did find, however, is that Nico Pearce, at this time of the playoffs two seasons ago, was at 1962 TPE. Pearce did get a big giveaway for the VHL Birthday and did purchase 20 Uncapped TPE for that final season. Wolanin may have a shot at the record, but he'll have to want it to get it.
