the malmo nighthawks head in to the final five games of the season firmly sat in third place in the european conference. with the top spot all but locked up for the streaking davos dynamo, it's all about trying to pass riga to edge out home ice advantage, and hold back the ever so close london united. all three of riga, malmo and london likely feel like they have a chance at the 2nd seed for the conference, so it will take an absolute full team effort if the nighthawks are to stake their claim.

the story of the season for malmo has been that potent offence. they are 2nd in the whole league for goals scored, and if not for a small slump in the recent week, they may well have been holding the top spot. and when the offence isn't quite there, the defence and goaltending has been clutch when they needed it most. with two games still to play against riga, the nighthawks hold their fate in their own hands.
