Gaikoku-hito 2,089
Season 94 VHL Draft eligible Name: Pierre-Marc Bouchard Team: Saskatoon Wild (VHLM) (insert picture) Profile Position: Center Shoots: Left Height/weight: 6`1” 187lbs Born: Helsinki, Finland Biography: Pierre-Marc Bouchard comes a great line of family members with a history in the VHL so should have above average knowledge of the game having been around the game with his father; Pierre Emile Bouchard – Helsinki Titans; announced retirement and Grandfather Robert Bouchard – Prague Phantoms. Explains why a French-Canadian kid is fly the flag of Finland. Played Majority of his hockey with HIFK moving through the levels; not a huge point producer. Stats: S89 HIFK U16 28GP 2G 4A 6Pts S90 HIFK U18 40GP 6G 16A 22Pts S91 HIFK U20 40GP 10G 20A 30Pts S92 HIFK U20 40GP 14G 31A 45Pts Sask Wild 3GP 0G 2A 3pts Pros: Vision at both ends of the ice is currently at an elite level and over time should become a strength as he currently plays a full 200-foot game similar to his grandfather. Good sized Center with a ton of strength that is currently allowing him to dominate in the face of circle as he is sitting around 60% through the limited sample size. Passing seems to right at or above expected for a kid joining the VHLM. Cons: Skating at the moment seem very average; which is a bit of surprise from a kid that grew up around the game something he will clearly need to work on if he is going to have an elite attacking speed at the Pro game but shouldn`t be that huge of deal since he is currently able to make up for the lack of a first step with his elite vision. While the kid has strength seems to lack a mean streak and a physical element to his game. This might develop more once the game becomes harder for him to keep up but clearly isn`t going to grind you in the corners like his dad or grandfather. Puck handling is a huge concern at the moment and not sure if this is due to coming from a big ice surface to the smaller one in North American but Bouchard currently doesn`t protect the puck, doesn`t cycle the puck well and is prone to turn overs in the offensive zone. Outlook: Raw is the first thing that comes to mind when I scout Bouchard but has the size, vision and strength to be a pro player but that will depend on how quickly he can develop his game as I am currently projecting him as two-way forward with a weak shot, inability to protect the puck and cannot create a lot of chance off the rush. Depth Forward at best…. Subject056 and Scurvy 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/145073-pierre-marc-bouchard-scouting-report/ Share on other sites
