It does not yet feel particularly real having a new player. I’m not really at the point in her development yet where she is anything beyond a partial foundation, and I won’t attribute any of the team’s or her own success on my decisions in her building, but it is nice to see the wins column trending in a good direction, and some points coming her way in the opening week.

 

This new-look defensive core seems ready to at least not be noticeable when the playoffs roll around. It’s hard to lead from defense in the VHLM, but if we can give our goaltender and our forwards the opportunity to play their game, I think we have just as good of a shot as anyone else.

We now turn to our center core, and our goaltending as points that will need to develop the most over the next few weeks if we hope to increase our odds of making a significant dent in the VHLM playoffs.
