Gaikoku-hito 2,130
A biography of Pierre Marc Bouchard Pierre Marc Bouchard (born Feb, 6th 2024) is a Finish forward currently playing for the Saskatoon Wild following in the footsteps of this father, Pierre Emile Bouchard; who is currently finishing out his career in Helsinki Titans. Pierre Emile is the third and youngest son of the Titans; former Vancouver Wolves defender. Born in Helsinki, Finland and played with HIFK through the minor league systems before joining the Saskatoon Wild; where his father 10 season ago won the Founders Cup. PM Bouchard has a long round and big shoes to fill being the great grandson of Pierre Bouchard, a former Montreal Canadien from the 1970-1980. His great great grandfather is where his dad Pierre Emile Bouchard got his name; while Pierre Marc Bouchard is named after the former Minnesota Wild player of the same name; who sadly had his career cut short due to head injuries. Hopefully that won`t be the case for this Pierre Marc Bouchard. So, Curse or blessing coming from a hockey family with two NHL great grandfathers (Pierre & Emile), a very good VHL grandfather (Robert) and his father Pierre Emile Bouchard; whose legacy is still to be determined as he still hasn`t finished playing yet. Pierre Marc Bouchard seems to really enjoy playing the game and has followed closer to this grandfather footsteps rather than his fathers as he has decided to lineup at center like Robert. His physicality is between both that of his massive fathers 6`4” frame and his grandfathers 5’11” but seems to have more rare strength compared to the two former VHL players. This might give Bouchard a bit of an edge when it comes to puck battles and faceoffs but still way too early to determine what the newest Bouchard might actually turn out to be. He has started developing his overall skills much faster than he did when he played on the larger ice surface in Helsinki and has started to show a bit of a scoring tough, not seen while playing on the larger ice in Europe. Which bolds well for this player moving forward as the VHL for the most part is played on the small North American ice. In the seventeen games that the young forward has played he has scored seven goals and seven assist so about an thirty goal and a thirty assist pace for sixty points if he played the full season but he will have the playoffs and the off season to develop his game even further and should play a much larger role in the VHLM next season with whomever drafts him. Currently ranked funnily similar to his father draft position at 5th in his draft class behind the likes of projected number one selection Maverick Goncalves from Switzerland; who has a rather unconventional build and has struggled with two goals and two assist in nineteen games. Jillian Woods is currently ranked second as the small American defender has been rather impressive in his small stint with the Marlins with eleven points. Felicia Hardy is currently ranked third as the defensive defenseman gives the GM of the VHLM three different looks in the top three selection meaning it will clearly come down to choice who is drafted first overall. Before back-to-back centers in The Phantom of the VHL and Pierre Marc Bouchard really leaving not much to choose between these two centers. Could Bouchard drop further down from his current ranking? Yup, that is nature of the game played during the draft as it is too early to project actual draft stock and not to mention some S93 players are being held over for the upcoming draft so Pierre Marc actual draft ranking sits at a lowly twenty-seventh; which currently see him ranked somewhere in the third round. A strong playoff and an upset of the Philadelphia Reapers would go a long way in improving his draft stock overall but it might be a bit of a reach to see him drafted in the 1st round regardless of what he does in the remained for the season and playoffs with Saskatoon. According to the pro scouting report most currently see the average size center as depth option or second maybe even third best option down the middle of the ice, that needs to develop a lot more before he is going to be consider a top six forward but overall we think based on pedigree that Pierre Marc Bouchard will be a lot closer; if not better center than his grandfather Robert Bouchard; who was top ten selection in a very deep VHLM draft in S75 and twenty-fourth overall to Prague in the VHL draft. Loyalty also seems to run in the family with Robert playing his full career in Prague and Pierre Emile, while playing for three teams in the VHL showed loyalty by playing bulk of his career with the Wolves in Vancouver doing right by the team and waived a NTC to become a Titan at the end of his career. So, regardless of where Pierre Marc Bouchard ends up, he is likely to be a very solid and loyal player. Only time will tell if he is going to be as good as his father or much closer to his grandfather but the journey is only just starting for this young Bouchard……..
