Las Vegas Makes Founders Cup Final

The Las Vegas Aces have made the Founders Cup Final for the first time since S85, and it's been a remarkable season for the the Aces so far! Let's have a little recap of the season thus far and dive into the path they took to get here!

The Aces started this season with a remarkably strong team out the gate, as many players returned from the previous season ready to compete again for a Founders Cup. The return of Bric Sheithaus @Oldhead91, Stinky @taylorherd, Caesar Monterrey @CaptainGatsby, Piston Maicupp @MandyManiac & Elle Aura Ashe @Lynersify have proven instrumental in propelling the Aces up the standings, and providing them a lethal offense that's been ranked as arguably the best in the entire league. With this offensive core carrying the team over the last 3 seasons, the Aces have maintained a competitive and consistent strategy, that is now all cards on the table with a majority of the team leaving for Europe after this season. To this end, the Aces have gone all in, trading picks and players to bolster the roster even more in the offensive category. The acquisition of Annie Oaks @Noodle Enjoyer has proven to be a fruitful one as Oaks put up 95 points this season, 31 of which came in 20 games with the Aces near the trade deadline. This on top of the 100 point season by Elle Aura Ashe and the Ace record setting numbers put up by Stinky has turned heads in the VHL headlines, and poised Las Vegas for a deep run in the playoffs. With that in mind, let's take a look at how the playoffs have gone for Las Vegas and how it might go for them in the Finals!

In the first round, the Aces faced off against the Ottawa Lynx, and it was a very competitive series indeed! The Aces started the series up 3-0, off decisive victories obtained by high scoring performances by Stinky and Elle Aura Ashe. The Lynx fought back and made the series a 3-2 competition, but in game six, Piston Maicupp and Elle Aura Ashe put the Aces up 4-2 in the game, and in the series, winning it for Las Vegas. Moving onto Miami, the Aces came in swinging hard, as in the first two games they won 4-2 and 3-2 respectively. In games 3 and 4, the goal scoring stayed above 3 per game, as the final scores of each were 3-1 and 3-2 respectively. With consistent goal scoring like this, it's easy to see how the Aces have managed this push. With their Finals opponent being the Reapers, the Aces are in for a tough series in which every game matters. Whether this offense continues to maintain pace or starts to slow down remains to be seen, but as they are down 2-0 in the series already facing off against an elite goaltender like Jorgen Lovstrom @Pifferfish, they have truly faced off against another juggernaut, and the series could honestly go either which way. We in Las Vegas have faith in our team and our chemistry, and our fans to push for the final stretch in this season, and hope to be hoisting the Founder's Cup over our heads by seasons end! Thank you for reading this *very hastily made* article, and we look forward to seeing you at Game 3 & 4 at Juan Ceson Arena tomorrow!

It's funny, I Lem and I engineer the Aces previous finals loss and we can do it once again... How fun!
