A Fight for First Place in the VHLM.

Nearly a third of the way into the season, five teams currently sit above 30 points. In order of first to fifth we have Las Vegas, Ottawa, Halifax, Houston, and Saskatoon. Vegas is holding down their conference with 36 points, trailing behind is Ottawa with 33. Vegas and Saskatoon have played 23 games, while the other three teams only 22. It going to be a very tight race for first place in the league for the entire season. Wiith multiple teams racing for that first place position. The most interesting story in the race is the comparison of first place Las Vegas to fifth place Saskatoon. Despite having identical goals scored and only one more goals scored against for Saskatoon, the Wild have picked up five more regulation losses, while Vegas has lost in overtime four more times. If Vegas can keep forcing games into overtime and picking up those crucial points, its tough to see any other team gaining on them.
