CowboyinAmerica 2,911
Oslo -- Coming into the season, the Oslo Storm had a single goal: Win a title. It was the reason they went through a multi-season rebuild, traded for multiple picks, went up in the draft to get who they wanted. For some teams, title or bust might be hopeful wishing by the fan-base. In Oslo, it was a mantra. But now, the Storm have weathered the seas and accomplished their goal. Last night, Oslo won a home Game 5 against the Vasteras Iron Eagles, clinching the franchise's first title since S88. The win also capped a dominant 8-2 run in the playoffs, which extended a regular season streak that saw Oslo race from third to first in the final third of the season. "We did it! This feels absolutely amazing. Like nothing else," an exalted Antonia Bucatini said through champagne-soaked glasses in the locker room after the game. "All the hard work, the Leadership, everything - it's amazing to see it pay off." Indeed for Bucatini, who was the first pick in this past season's VHLE Draft, the championship provides some proof that Oslo made the right move in going for it all with a one season player. The title also provides a nice bookend for Bucatini's agency, whose first ever title was with the VHLM version of the Oslo Storm way back in S32. There will be time to look towards what next season will mean for Bucatini and the rest of the Storm as many of them move up to the VHL. But for now, they're celebrating. "We've got a parade to plan," Bucatini added. "Get ready, we're coming for the streets of Oslo!"
