The Beatles Art GIF by hoppip

You say Hello and I say good-bye

While the VHLE draft hasn`t taken place as of yet and the decision to play in the VHLE hasn`t actually been made yet by the young Finish player that goes by the name of Pierre Marc Bouchard; having just been drafted 3rd overall in the VHL draft to Riga Reign.

“We have yet to determine where I am playing next season but the longer things go without a contract in Riga the more likely it looks like I will be playing a season in the VHLE.” stated Bouchard.

Pierre Marc Bouchard is coming off a rather disappoint season if truth be told when he was selected 2nd overall in the S93 VHLM Dispersal Draft by the Halifax 21st and an even more disappointing play-off performance; where he completely disappeared in the eleven games before Halifax was bounced from the play-off by Saskatoon Wild, his former team.

“I struggled at beginning of last season since I spent too much time during the off-season on strength and defensive play so while it helped the team from a defensive side of the puck it took longer for the offensive side to come around. At the end I did finish the season at a point per game with 31g, and 41a but I was hoping to have a VHLM career close to that of my Grandfather Robert Bouchard, rather than what I did.” Bouchard stated when talking about his past season with Halifax.  Robert missed 50 goals by four and had over 109pts while playing for the Philadelphia Reapers back in S75.

“I will add more offensive side to my game this season as I have already started the training but until I touch the ice, I won`t know how the training has paid off or not. Again, the goal will be to have closer to 100pts season with 30-50 goals scored but we will see if I can even manage a point per game pace in the VHLE.” Add Bouchard talking about his current off-season training. "I want to be near the top, if not top of the league when it comes to scoring and overall points so having only 73pts last season and not making any of the top 10 list. Means I need to add more offensive if this is going to happen in the VHLE!!"

“I hope that I am drafted by a contending team if I have to play in the VHLE as it is going to be a long season otherwise. I want to be a difference maker if I can but I also want to play meaningful hockey so we will see once I am draft into the VHLE if that is going to happen or not!!” Bouchard mentioned about his future hopes for a team that will draft him in a few days’ time. "I also have no clue when or if I am going to be drafted since only one or two managers have actually reached out so it not like the VHL draft where I knew that I was most likely being drafted by Riga Reign or Vancouver Wolves. I enter the VHLE with as much interest as the managers have shown to me!!"

It will be an interesting few days or weeks as Pierre Marc Bouchard is at a bit of a cross road as he determines if it is smarter from him to play a season in the VHLE or head straight to the VHL like his father did with New York Americans before being traded to the Vancouver Wolves. Nine season career versus an eight season career is still an interesting topic. Does the Young Bouch go nine like his father to try to the new meta of only playing eight?
