Wally Lose - LW - USA

Bio

Wally Lose is a second-generation player for the VHLM. The grandchild of VHL player Justin Lose. Carrying on his legacy, Wally wants to continue his grandfather's legacy. Wally just wrapped up his 2nd season, his first full season, in the minor league. He has also represented Team USA the past 2 seasons in the WJC. He has not gotten a medal yet. He was drafted to the Rome Gladiators in the 3rd round. He will be moving up to Rome to continue his journey to the VHL where he was drafted to the Los Angeles Stars. He hopes to crack the VHL roster in 1 to 2 seasons.

Quote

"My time with the Lynx was amazing. It was great to go deep in the playoffs like that. The outcome was not ideal, but it's something I can take in stride and learn from. The draft day experience for the VHLE and VHL was outstanding as well. I never would have dreamed of getting drafted 20th overall by the Stars. I'm hoping that I will live up to the hype. It's also something I can brag about to my grandpa since he was drafted 26th overall in his respective draft."

Pros

Sniper Mentality - He is willing to forecheck hard to get the puck to the net. He was the finisher on the team with more goals than assists. A great option for the powerplay.

Hitting - Although he didn’t start with a lot of hits in his first season, he learned to throw his body around. His physical game assists in creating space around him for scoring capabilities.

Getting pucks on the net - 222 shots on net during the season showcases how he is trying to get a spark of offense. He should be converting more on the shots if there was anything to nitpick about.

Cons

Consistency - He has been very hit-and-miss on getting to practice every week. He tries to keep an open communication whenever possible. Something that he should be working on in the offseason.

Speed - He was caught a lot in the VHLM due to the lack of speed. He should be placed on sprints during practice to get him to build up his stamina and speed.

Shotblocking - He doesn’t get in front of the puck often. He’s been working on his physical game with hits but is neglecting to lay his body on the line for blocking shots.

Final Thoughts

A determined player ready to leap to the next level. He should transition well and make it to the big leagues by Season 95 or Season 96.
