Today’s the day, where the VHL finally kicks-off, and the Malmo Nighthawks have already announced their leader ship core.
To not much surprise, there hasn’t been much change, except for the addition of Randy Bobandy becoming an Alternate Captain, who recently signed with Malmo during the off-season. Both Viktor Jensen and Savaisk Tsezar will be returning A’s which isn’t too surprising- minus the fact that many are anticipating that Jensen will soon become the Captain. It looks like that won’t be the case this season as the on-going Captain for his 3rd season straight will not be retiring just yet. Ash Sparks, now 4-time Captain of the Nighthawks, looks to lead the charge for his team in his final season.

“I’m honoured the guys have decided on naming me the Captain once again in my final season- I could only hope to keep leading them right until the very end of my career.. and their faith in me has made it so. I will not let them all down as we continue to strive for the Cup together one last time.” -Ash Sparks, Captain and starting Goaltender for the Malmo Nighthawks

Malmo looks to win their 3rd Victory Cup in a row and have another shot at breaking the Victory Cup curse. If there is a team in the VHL that can possibly pull that incredible feat off, it’d be this core that Malmo has put together. I’ll put my money on this roster to get it done any day.
