Meghan was born in a very hot May 2008 summer and was the last Dancalot to be conceived. Her parents didn't stay together long after she was born, breaking up at the age of 5, but her father Robert never stopped caring for her, supporting his children from his brother Frank's house only 30 minutes away from them all, honking every time they passed by on his 10 speed. With a busy household and plenty of laundry and unspoken things piled around the house because her busy mother Franchesca worked two jobs, it was Meghan's job to clean before everybody returned home—until school started, of course. Luckily, around the same time, the eldest in the family, Ashley, stopped being busy, and the responsibilities were lifted with ease as she and her brother Charlie prepared themselves for the next step in their lives, their father doing the same, finally buying his first vehicle to help incorporate himself back into the picture.

 

At an early age, Meghan Dancalot quickly adopted television into her life, and she really enjoyed watching anything that had to do with adventure, action, or reality. She watched them so much that her little brain actually thought she had gained powers, giving her more confidence in public school and sports, dressing up like characters from her fantasies to boost the personality she had hidden away. Around the same time, she would dive into gaming, mostly the NBA franchise, making athletics more part of her life before she made it into highschool. Growing up as a diva with a plethora of inspirations thanks to the internet, she knew what she wanted to do one day: play hockey, mostly because of her sister, but thanks to a long-lost friend who tweeted out her draft day story, the desire grew even more in her competitive genes.

 

Compared to the other girls, Meghan is shorter than average, making conversations and climbing almost impossible. Yeah, she could model, but with her small structure, it also made it harder to stand out in her 1.5 million population if she wanted to make the big bucks one day in America, crossing out most of the agents and scouts in her area. But she did have one ace up her sleeve: Ashley, her older sister, who went through this process years before, when she wanted to be a hockey star herself. With a little bit of elbow grease to strengthen her 5'5" frame and a pro behind her, the possibilities of making a pro hockey team were within grasp.

 

Starting out long ago, when it was just her older sibling hanging around, the efforts for Ashley to get the family name famous were endless. From different wardrobes, haircuts, and even encouragement to follow the daughter around, it was clear the pressures were higher than ever. Even with a strict diet routine and guidelines for almost everything to keep her focused, nothing would work. In the end, she never made it into pro hockey herself or anything else major, but she knew one day she'd coach her younger sister enough to get the name on the TV screen so the efforts weren't wasted.

 

Let's flash forward now to Meghan's years in high school, and it's clear the hard work and determination helped make her stand out more than ever before, getting nods from the teachers, smiles from her coach's, and even an add from the principle. After taking gold in track and field several times, Meghan knew something was up, and her efforts behind the scenes playing for her Cristian hockey team were also improving to the point where even scouts knew her handle on social media. At this time, her older brother was also dominating badminton, so the family name was ringing in the local pubs, just like her father wanted, making him thrilled. Even if his car was now in repossession, he decided to cut liquor out of his life for good.

 

Beginning her career with a hot shot from the slot, thanks to her sister's interesting target training, she definitely had a knack for scoring. As the year progressed and teammates did too, becoming the ultimate support player began her new intentions, again switching over the same way like her sister did. The tricks were still in abundance: playing more games now and cutting school and working down a bit more, opposite of her sister, waiting to work and play until her final year. With a target in sight, the glowing tunnel shone brighter in Meghan's mind, knowing that one day after she makes a roster, she could also possibly be nominated into the hall of fame to fully complete her father's dreams, even if it's only in the official documents because of the hyphenation. Charlie decided to become a plumber and a part-time cheerleader for his sister.
