Random thoughts and Events:

 

-       Earthquake struck East Central Japan again last week on Monday morning or Sunday for most of you. With a nice 5am wakeup call destroying any productivity on the worse day of the week for productive as the earthquake struck the Noto area for the third or fourth time since New Years eve. (We didn`t feel the effects of the earthquake even though we were woken by the darn alarms as we are some 400kms away.)

 

-       Tuesday came a surprise trade of my player from the Riga Reign to the Vancouver Wolves, no I hadn`t asked to be traded, No I wasn`t actually part of the trade discussions as Frank handles all the trade discussions, while I am happy that I am joining Vancouver as I was one of the players that we targeted during the draft; we knew I wasn`t going to be available at the 4 & 5 slots so I was happy to be selected by Riga. Does Bouchard fit a huge need for Vancouver? Yes, We needed a center to fill the long term whole between Ninefingers & Martin so from a team aspect it was a much need trade. From a player aspect I am sad that I have been trade again, so early in my career. I wish Riga the best of luck!!

 

-       Vancouver created issues for itself as the team traded away a forward so now the hunt for another forward starts. We have discussed different trade avenues some crazy outrages ones to ones that would work for both teams involved. Now the question is can we get a trade to work as we will need another forward if Vancouver has any chances at Playoffs or during the playoffs. Hopefully a trade announcement coming soon!!

 

-       Stepped down as VSN writer. Yup, I have decided to step away from the VSN due to a few different reasons but the main one was lack of enjoyment. I like to write but I also like to be creative about what I write about so I started finding the VSN article boring and too much work as most articles reaches 4,000 words rather easily since I needed to talk about 16 teams so even limiting my word count; yeah, that isn`t going to happen as my wife stated I couldn`t even be quiet for 3secs and was right the other day so most articles are 1,600 words before introduction and conclusion. I also agree with a few other articles that articles would be written or could be write more as media spots with one caveat; no one would write the number of words or articles without being paid TPE correctly, tagging members and all the other aspects it took to write a VSN article.

 

-       As one door close another window opens, in another surprise turn of events I was asked to join the BOG this past week; which I have happy accepted. Now I have a lot of homework reading wise to catch backup to what the BOG has been doing behind the scenes these past few seasons. It should be interesting and new experience that I am looking forward to learning as much as I can from this experience.

 

-       One last point I am looking forward to being able to discuss my player again and try to figure out a new graphic for PMB in Vancouver since none of the actual player graphic work. Riga was easy since PMB (RLP) played for New Islanders briefly before heading to Europe to finish his career due to concussions. Closest I can find so far is a Wild white jersey swap. I guess I could try to find LA king wearing 96 or 9 or similar body build and just do a facial swap if need be!! I guess that is fun aspect of trying to build a graphic.
