After a season of hope that culminated in the 4th Founder's Cup Finals appearance in franchise history, the Halifax 21st came up short in a hard-fought six game series against repeat Founder's Cup winners, the Saskatoon Wild.  While the 21st started the series with a strong 4-1 win in which they outshot the Wild 44-19, the series quickly slipped away as they would lose the next 3 games before clawing back one game to force a game 6.  Safe to say, this series didn't go the way the 21st would have hoped, and perhaps they deserved better after such a great regular season, but that's why we play the games, I guess-- or sim them, more specifically.  At the heart of the team's success, however, all through the regular season and the entirety of the playoff run was team captain, Dorji Khan @Oddpurplefly.  The Mongolian Stallion, as he's come to be known, was a focal point in the team's offense throughout this finals series in particular, notching 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points in the 6 games played.  Khan would lead the way with his consistent production throughout the playoffs and finished second in team playoff scoring with 17 points in 15 games, 1 point behind Robin Sierra @ethanjaeda (18 points) for the team lead.

Khan's contribution to the team went far beyond his on-ice/in-sim performance as he was a staple in the Halifax locker room nearly every day and really led the team through his positive presence and desire to win.  Speaking with GM Lexie Leitner, she had this to say about Khan and his love for the 21st, "Last season [S93], I was approached by another team who was interested in trading for Dorji Khan.  It was a pretty good deal for us too so I decided to explore the possibility a bit-- this was back when Khan was still getting his feet under him a little bit.  I asked Dorji's agent, @Oddpurplefly, if he would be open to a move and his response told us everything we ever needed to know about him as a player and as a person.  He basically said-- and I'm paraphrasing-- 'Sure you can trade me if it helps the team get better, but I want to be here in Halifax and help this team win, even if it means playing 3rd or 4th line minutes'.  It was clear then that the was invested in this team and after hearing that, there wasn't a deal I'd be willing to take to trade him away.  Since then, he's gone on to have an incredible season and has led our team since game 1.  He's going to be missed a ton in Halifax, but I know he'll be a huge part of the Bratislava and Toronto organizations as he moves on with his career so we wish him all the best!"

Throughout Season 94, Dorji Khan has personified all the qualities of a SuperSailor-- he's earned TPE and grown his player exceptionally well and consistently, he's been a force in the sims, and most importantly, he's been an excellent, active, and positive teammate.  In spite of the bitter loss, congratulations to Dorji Khan on being the Halifax SuperSailor for round 3 of the playoffs!
