Kowalski Has Busy Night

NEW YORK - It seemed like a cruel twist of fate that VHL World Cup games were scheduled on the same night of the Season 41 VHL Entry Draft, if only for the effect on the ratings. However, for Season 41 draftee Jack Kowalski, he somehow needed to be in multiple places at the same time. As hopeless as it seemed, the World Cup's schedule favorably played in Kowalski's favor, allowing him to attend the draft without missing a single game.

Kowalski, who with the second overall pick became the first draft pick in Stockholm Vikings history, was coming off of a big night. He had contributed two assists along with laying down seven hits and blocking two shots in a shocking win over the United States the night before at wherever it is the Mercenaries play. On their way to the next game in Canada, Kowalski was given permission by Mercenaries General Manager Benoit Prevost to detour to New York to attend the draft.

Prevost would proceed to select Kowalski with the second overall pick, giving the newly-formed Stockholm Vikings a tremendous building block to start their franchise's new look. Then through what can only be described as a stroke of VHL magic, both Kowalski and Prevost were able to reach Canada in time for the Mercenaries' game against the Canadian National Team, but their magic ran out in a 4-2 loss. However, his VHL career officially kicked off in grand fashion last night in more ways than one.
