OrbitingDeath 3,204
After joining the VHLM after the trade deadline and winning a cup there with the Saskatoon Wild, Pan Daffleck figured he was best of trying to play against rougher competition. He decided to go to Europe for the season. To play in Europe he would not have to go through a draft, so he was able to select his own team of choice (or well, atleast from those that would offer him a contract), so this already was a nice prospect for him, as Pan rather decides for his own where he would go. So for this season he got offered a deal by the Cologne Express, the Oslo Storm and the Rome Gladiators. The last two, just posted an offer on the VHL Boards, but Cologne actually also reached out to him through a personal message, making them the instant favorites to sign. And for Daffleck this was also a chance to play for the same franchise as the legendary Thomas O'Malley once did! Despite them not being the VHL franchise of former glory anymore, but it's still the Cologne Express! So with that in mind, he happily joined the Express, expecting nothing but success in his season. After all , he put up a point per game in both the regular season as the playoffs in the VHLM, what could stop this little guy right? Turns out, the VHLE can stop him, because after having played 38 games, he scored one single goal. Yes, it was a game winning goal, but still it is just one lousy goal. So would Pan do better in the assists department? Let's see..... 2 lousy assists. This is definitly not the play that he expected from himself, he saw himself as a new godlike player. A hero for the ages, one that would make all the red panda's in the world proud. But instead of a point per game, he now averages a penalty minute per game. Hits is a bit above one a game, but shots per game doesn't even have 0,5 per game, and blocks are also below 1 per game. And when you realize that Pan normally would expect to go up to the VHL, you can only think this would be a big mistake for him, as he can't even handle the level of play in Europe. Will Pan Daffleck's career go out like a candle in the wind, or is he just holding back on everyone, trying to tank his draft stock with his lousy play?!
