Small Slump Bumps Nighthawks to 3rd in EU

The Malmo Nighthawks' pursuit of a Victory Cup and first place in the EU seems to have hit a snag, as the Nighthawks have feel victim to a couple of losing streaks over the past week or so. That has left them 7 points behind Moscow for first place and 5 points behind Riga for second, and so it's likely going to take both of those teams falling apart for Malmo to climb back into the hunt.

All is not lost, of course, as the Nighthawks have been very consistent throughout the season leading up to this point. Over the next few games, the Nighthawks will look to rebound so they can enter the playoffs on a positive note instead of a negative one.

"The end goal is always a Continental Cup, not a Victory Cup," says Phillip Rave, who seems poised to set career highs in goals and points this season. "We just need to get back on track here and see where it goes - I think we have a great team, a chance to go on a run here in the playoffs, so that's where our focus needs to be."
