PROS:

Shooting - Carti is an all out offensive weapon, honing his skills in inner city Atlanta he quickly became one of the top shooters in his city.  His wrist shot and slapshot combined make for a deadly scoring threat anytime he has the puck on his stick.  Most goals come via wrist shot from his "office", which is almost on the goal line where he waits for perfect one time passes and opportune rebounds.

Strength - Carti is one of the biggest names from his city and it shows on the ice.  His strength makes him unbelievably hard to knock off the puck and most opponents feel threatened by his aura, not even attempting to knock him with the fear of risking a penalty or getting injured.  While he doesn't hit a lot, he certainly has the size and stature to impose fear in opponents not to interfere with his game.

CONS:

Passing - Carti is a straight shooter, resulting in a lack of passing ability.  He always thinks to shoot first and rarely passes the puck unless outnumbered or completely pressured.  This can disturb team chemistry to a degree but once his teammates realize he capitalizes on most shots the sentiment quickly dissipates. More assists however would definitely make him a more complete player and the points would look better on paper.

Skating - Carti isn't the fastest, at all, but can be misleading.  He coasts around the ice waiting for his best opportunity to score, conserving energy and drifting around.  Think Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals. This can cause him to look like he is lazy or doesn't care, but when it counts Carti knows when to turn it on.  Overall his skating ability can still be considered subpar and coaches would like to see him a little more mobile during games.

AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT

Defence - His defence game is being worked on, and will develop more over his first season in the VHLM.  Coaches are working with him now to be even more solid on the puck and mix some speed into his game by getting stronger and doing more specific endurance and stamina training in the gym.

Puck Handling - Typically the puck doesn't stay on Carti's stick for long, so coaches would like to see a bit more in his artillery when it comes to control and dekeing.  Over the course of his first VHLM season Carti also strives to improve this area of his game.
