Plate 386
Joel Jakobs has had pretty admiral performances in both the JST and WJC. As a member of Team Asia in the WJC, Jakobs would put on a show humiliating the EU GM that decided to pass on him by putting up a pgp and getting 4 points in the deciding game to force Team World out of the playoffs and push Team Asia into the bronze medal game (They didn't win). Ottawa's been looking very closely at the playmaking ability of Jakobs. When asked to comment, Ottawa scouts said "He's good". High praise considering I made that up on the spot. On the flipside in the JST, where Jakobs has been skating against the worlds best competition in the VHLM, Jakobs has put up 42 points in 42 games (20G - 22A). This high point production isn't unprecedented for the forward. It'll be interesting to see how Jakobs performs on a depth role within the Lynx system. Brandon Petan Jr. is projected to slot in that top C line so much less focus will be placed on the German Forward in Joel Jakobs.
