James Pearson has had and up down season so far, With 2 goals and a single assist in 12 games so far, he has struggled to find the scoresheet. His defensive game has improved under Vegas management and he’s been using his strong frame to outmuscle opponents, it’s just a matter of finding the back of the net.

He has had a hard time finding an identity, switching between being a big body along the boards, a strong net front presence, or a shifty sniper. Coaches have put him in all opportunities but he’s struggling in every one.

Pearson has had some highs, his biggest being a shootout winner in which he electrified the home crowd. Since then his game has taken a dive. We’ll see if the extra training he’s been putting in will pay off, or if his rookie season will be marred with bumps along the way.
