After a short stint with the Mississauga Hounds at the end of last regular season, German defenseman Ron World Peace Jr has since been drafted 19th overall by the San Diego Marlins in this summer's VHLM draft. With the Marlins, he is relegated to a much more reduced role at the very back end of the Marlins' bench as the team sports quite the number of more developed defensemen such as the likes of Blaze Thunderstrike or Dustin Moore.

While the situation personally isn't all that enjoyable for World Peace Jr, he is aware that these tougher times are the stepping stones he has to overcome in order to ever have a shot of playing in the VHL. Nothing is granted, and playing time has to be earned.

"Realistically speaking, I don't think I will ever have a shot at playing in the big league," World Peace Jr said to reporters after the most recent game. "But I would at least like to get a fair chance to showcase my talent in the minor league. Get a shot at it. If that's not happening, I'm more than willing to pack up my bags and go back home to Europe."
