Player Spotlight – Chad Powers

American born goaltender Chad Powers joined the VHL back on September 23, 2024, and was able to join the Halifax 21^st roster as the team’s backup netminder, after the team drafted him sixteenth overall in the season ninety-six VHLM Dispersal Draft. With Jon Webber III ahead of Powers currently on the depth chart, Powers has only seen action in seventeen games this season. During those seventeen games so far in season ninety-six, Powers has put up a record of 7-9-1 along with a save percentage of .897 and a goals against average of 2.75. While the numbers don’t jump off the page when looking at them, Powers has been consistently approving behind the scenes in hopes of continuing his development day in and day out. Since joining the league back near the end of September Powers has been actively submitting point tasks and supplemental tasks each week and currently sits at 187 TPE. Powers 187 TPE is currently has him sitting as the eleventh best VHL draft eligible prospect as the league inches closer to the off-season.

 

If Powers can continue on the earning path he is on at this point of his career, there is no telling what the future will hold for him in the VHL once he arrives for a very lucky club.
