The San Diego Marlins have managed to their first round series in convincing fashion, doing away with the Mexico City Kings in six games. After jumping out to an 3 nothing lead early on, Mexico City even managed to claw their way back into the series for a littlw while before the Marlins were able to put the nail in the coffin. Left winger Jean-Pierre Devote shouldered most of the offensive load, registering seven points throughout the course of the series. For the Marlins blueliners, Ron World Peace Jr had a stellar series as he came away with four assists. This already has equaled his points total from last season's postseason, when the German defenseman suited up in two playoff series for the Mississauga Hounds.

World Peace Jr was ecstatic after the game six win, thanking the coaching staff for their precise work in this series: "I think we got out to a magnificient start, but our concentration slipped a bit midway through the series. Coach Fish set us straight, made us watch a lot of film to identify unnecessary errors and erronous patterns. He gave us quite the scolding, but I think it worked out quite well. Now we have to keep our focus and concentration up as we move on to the next opponent. We're doing well defensively and should rely on that going forward."
