The 2nd round for the S96 VHLM playoffs (so far)

The VHLM is currently in the 2nd round of the playoffs and so far we have been witnessing 2 unexpected starts. Firstly the top team in the VHLM, the Philadelphia Reapers(1st seed), swept the Houston Bulls(8th seed) in the 1st round but are currently in the midst of a split 1-1 series against the Mississauga Hounds(3rd seed). 
 

Who will win between the Reapers and the Hounds? 

This has been unexpected but many believe the Reapers are still the favourites to win the series although I don’t believe it will be such a clear cut series, and the first 2 games can back me up on that. The Hounds are also a very strong team so I’m curious to see how this series plays out and who will make it to the finals.

 

As for the other series we have the San Diego Marlins(7th seed) taking on the Ottawa Lynx(2nd seed) and the Marlins have gone up 2-0 in the series over the Lynx after day 1. This has also been another unexpected start to this round for many, but when you look at the finer details this is also a very close match-up like the other bracket. Ottawa started both game 1 and 2 with early leads, but San Diego relentlessly came back each time in the 3rd period. I also have to give a nod to Ricky for stealing the show in game 2, who stood on his head in triple OT and held down the fort to give his team a winning chance. Being grossly outshot 7-2 in the 1st OT, 7-3 in the 2nd OT, and 4-2 in the 3rd OT- Ricky turned away every shot to help seal away the 2nd win of the series for the Marlins.

 

Who will win the series between the San Diego Marlins and the Ottawa Lynx?

Again it’s not so very clear cut but I am obviously going to be biased as my goaltender is playing for San Diego, and I will always want my team to win regardless.

 

Anything can happen today for day 2 of the playoffs, where we will see game 3 and most likely game 4 both played today for both playoffs brackets. With 5/8 East teams making the playoffs but only 3/8 West teams managed to make it, we are down to 3 East teams and 1 West team. 

 

Will we see a West vs East final?
