Hi VHL!

Boy oh boy has it been an interesting few weeks. Supposedly this will be my last devastatingly busy one for at least a couple months, but project after project have been piling up, and that’s put sim leagues in a weird spot.

Woods had probably one of the best seasons I’ve ever had this season. I’ve never really been that close to the statistical awards leaders, and while I didn’t manage to get anything off of Stone, it was awesome getting to fight against a dominant player like that this season. Internally it was great to get constant pressure from Obuz, who was always pushing the pair of us to be better, do better, and support the forwards that we served.

In the end, Malmo and Moscow sit, as we tend to at this stage, and we watch Davos head to the finals. While Woods got the better of fellow S94 Draftee Felicia Hardy in the regular season, it’s been no contest in the playoffs so far, winning exactly 1 of the last 9 playoff games they’ve played against each other in. Hardy was kind enough to reach out to extend her wishes that Woods “Enjoy the vhl offseason”, which Woods was already planning to do anyways, but appreciated the gesture nonetheless.

Euron plans to begin the utter destruction and humiliation of GMs across the world starting today, and I for one am excited to see where the bloodthirst takes Moscow. There is no shortage of talent, vibes, competition, development, and performing pedigree in this system, but there is a very strict and rather annoying cap on salary out. And while Woods would probably pay to play in Moscow, the VHL Board of Governors convened and decided that it would simply be too fun of an idea to allow.

As for Houston, I’m really happy with the progress we made from the beginning of the season to now. We’ve got a great group of players, all with their own special quirks, and we’ve acquired a ton of TPE along the way. It was enough to chase Las Vegas out of the 8 seed, but not enough to go much further. It will be exciting to see what we can scrounge from a smaller VHLM class coming up here, but considering the roster size we already carried this season, we’re not looking to fill too many holes. The only issue will be Free Agency, and which players can be brought back. It’s tough to never find offense, but next season we build off of the foundation we have, and fix some of the wonky bits this offseason, and really drive it home with some great building, great earning, and most importantly, excellent vibes. We’ll continue to make good choices every week, and fulfill our prime directive, getting as many Houston players into the VHL as possible. All of the players that were earning when I started as the GM made it to the end of the season without dropping activity, so that is something I’m very proud of. That’s the expectation going forward, and one that I know we can continue to uphold.
