With the second round of the VHLM playoffs over, the finals are set and in a surprising turn of events, the Mississauga Hounds will be facing off against the Ottawa Lynx after sending the Philidelphia Reapers packing in a tightly fought series that many had favored the Reapers to win.

"We thrive on that kind of thing." laughed Hounds captain Slava Kovalenko. "We really didn't worry about what anyone else was saying, we just did our best to focus in on our game and perform to the best of our abilities. Philly gave us a tough fight and they should be proud of the job that they did. They made us work for it."

With the Hounds taking on Ottawa for the Founder's Cup, Kovalenko was a bit more reflective when asked what playing against his friends Brandon Petan Jr. and River Harrington was going to mean for him in the series.

"On the ice, I just have to think of them as any other team and do my part out there. We'll see how things go and of course, I hope for a good series and that nobody gets hurt but otherwise, it's me against them."

The finals should be a very interesting matchup.
