CGY gets enlightened

Kurt Janser is in town with his brand spanking new yacht, which his grandson helped to design. So of course the old man invited Callum to spend some time aboard the ship while he calls New York during the offseason. The Swiss defenceman happily accepted and dragged Eilidh with him, as she has not seen the former Hounds and Istanbul coach for quite a while. So the two of them walked to the New York harbour and boarded the vessel. Kurt was not present, but instructed the crew accordingly.

Since the New York Americans' back was drawing the blue prints, he gave his cousin the tour, explaining details and the challenges he faced while trying to fit all of Kurt's requirements into the frame of the 'Chancer II'. 

'Here on the main deck we have the galley. Since this is an exploration yacht, you can see there is loads of refrigerated storage to accommodate guests and crew for a transatlantic voyage. The Master bedroom is also on the maindeck, together with the salon and the cockpit at the stern.'

'But how can you steer a vessel from the stern, you cannot see anything?' asked the Scottish lass.

'Oh, the cockpit is not where one steers the yacht. That would be the wheelhouse or the bridge. The cockpit is a leisure area. Gramps opted for a outside dining area with sun pads.'

'Ah, I see.'

'In the lower deck, we fitted the engine room, the tender garage, some facilities like the laundry room and a small gym as well as the accommodations for the crew and the guests.'

'A gym? Not what I would put on a yacht, I can tell you.'

'He has a sauna adjacent to his cabin as well. On the upperdeck there is the skylounge with a bar and again some outside relaxation area. Finally on the sundeck there is an outdoor bar with a Whirlpool and space for the davitts and the water toys like jetskis, kajaks etc.'

'Did you just say he has a hot tub on the ship?'

'He has. Wanna try it out?'

'You betcha, eh? as you Canadian borns would say. Let's meet up there in five, okay?'

'You are on.'

CGY was ready before Eilidh and waited on a sun bed for her to join him. He was going through some schematics when his roomie cleared her throat to catch his attention.

'Are you ready, Cal?'

'I was born...' Callum interrupted himself when he looked up from his papers.

'Cat got your tongue, Callum? You like what you see?'

'You look stunning in that nothing of a bathing suit you are almost wearing there, Eilidh.'

'Why thank you. You do not look too shabby either in your trunks. Shall we?'

They sat in the jaccuzzi, enjoying the skyline of the City that never sleeps while dusk crept up. After a while, Eilidh asked Callum:

'Why have we never dated?'

Callum choked on his virgin margherita and answered after he recovered from the ensuing coughing fit. 'We are cousins, Eilidh!' 

'Very, VERY remote cousins. And not even by blood.'

'What you mean 'not by blood'?'

'I was adopted you numpty. Mum and dad both are ginger, green eyed and have freckles. I am very light skinned, raven-haired and have pale blue eyes. Did it not ocurr to you, that I may not be their biological child?'

'That knowledged would have saved me a lot of heart ache, you know.'

'Did you not notice all the times since I moved to NYC when I was strutting around the appartment in my underwears and 'accidentally' walked into the bathroom when you took a shower?'

'Eilidh, look at me. Does anything scream 'subtle' when you look at me?'

'Fair point. So are you gonna kiss me now or do I have to wait for another ten years?'

'You won't need to ask me twice.'
