badcolethetitan 938
George Richmond and the Offseason George Richmond enjoys time off George Richmond has been enjoying his time off during this off-season, after signing a 2 + 1 contract for the Moscow Menace. "Contract talks were pretty easy," stated George Richmond. "There wasn't really much of a hassle, we knew I was going to re-sign, it was just for how long." Richmond is coming off of his best season yet, dropping 109 points in 72 games played, topping his career high in points, assists, and goals. Richmond was put into a bigger role this season, playing on the top line and being responsible for most of the offense. There were some questions of whether Richmond would re-sign or not, but he answered that quickly. Richmond has not yet stated what he'll be working on this off-season, instead, he has been spending time in the USA on vacation. "It's a nice change of pace. I have been working my butt off the entire season, so to just get a break is great." said Richmond. The Moscow Menace have a lot to do in the off-season though, as yet again they'll need to trade players away as they won't have the cap space. Lots of players have come up in trade talks, including Richmond, but he's brushed away the rumors saying "It will never happen. Not now." People wonder if Richmond is taking a very optimistic look, as there is still a chance he could be moved this off-season. If it were to happen though, Moscow would receive a haul in return, as Richmond is entering his prime and has yet to regress. He'll be looking to top this season's stats and be one of the best players in the league, otherwise, it will be a let down from the fans. Expectations are there for Richmond, and they should be, as he has been a very important piece for this team. Chicago Phoenix offseason The Chicago Phoenix fell in the wildcard to the Seattle Bears and not much has been said from their camp this offseason. The team obviously needs two forwards, but hasn't been very aggressive in acquiring those players, instead, they are keen on waiting to see what happens with other teams. "We're for sure trying to make deals, but we're waiting on others to pull the trigger. It's a bit of cat and mouse right now," stated the Chicago GM. The Phoenix are starting to enter the last seasons of their core and if they are going to win, they should start performing now. They need to sell the future and look to the present as a rebuild is on the horizon, but not yet. The team has a fair amount of the core returning for this next season, so they'll need to lock in if they're going to win it all. NA is not getting easier and with Vancouver having an exceptional run in the playoffs, it's going to be hard for Chicago to reach the finals, however, it can be done. Chicago has consistently been a playoff team, even reaching the conference finals, but they'll need to do better if they are to win it all. The last time Chicago won the cup was in S76, so it's been over 20 seasons since their last cup. The team is here though and all they need is a couple more additions to be a potential championship winning team.
