Aimee 1,148
Hi friends, long time no chat. Life has been…interesting recently which is why I seemingly completely forgot to do tasks for tpe last week. It’s been a long time since I’ve had that happen and I just think there’s a lot going on. In no particular order: I had walking pneumonia for a few weeks which also made my asthma flare up, wife and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary, I attended the unveiling of my grandmother’s headstone, went to Disney, have gotten 2 quotes from 2 contractors to do work in the house, have been trying to get ourselves ready for fertility treatments, and just work and life and stuff. But back to the VHL where the word count actually matters. Ahsoka has been a bit of a depressing player, I won’t lie. I feel like she’s just in a constant battle to find her right place on the ice. She has some production but not the kind I would like to see her have. I’ve been doing what I can and applying but honestly, I don’t know if I’m feeling it right now with her. I’ve debated abandoning her, but I feel like I need to give her some more time. More tpe and maybe a full season the same team will be good for her. I just hope I have the heart to keep it going. Yes, she was top rookie but I feel like that only says so much about her. I know I’m building a great player numbers wise so I’m wondering if she’s just having really bad luck in some ways. Maybe this is what Simon does to you after giving you one of the best players the VHL has had in a long time. 180 words for week ending 12/15/2024 Triller and mattyIceman 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/153371-ugh/ Share on other sites
Gaikoku-hito 2,130
Stick with it as it usually takes two or three season before your player will breakout but that also depends in the teams build. Might take longer now that she is with Seattle due to also having Holmes on the back end as well. mattyIceman 1,229
Stick with it. You only played as goalie on a top tier London team, but every player has their own story.... It's about 25 seasons I'm around and got my first Continental Cup in 95, so stick with it cuz there's plenty of learning to do. Not every 1k tpe player ends up being a champion. Daniel Janser 2,213
Simon T. messed with my previous player as well, only just managing the crucial PPG benchmark for the first three seasons. It did not help that I got frustrated about the hybrid attributes basically chopping my player in half in S83 (in hindsight a good decision by the BOG imo, but at the time I was not amused). Stick to your guns a little longer Aimee. Also, there is nothing wrong with being a solid player, helping their team to be successful. You seem to be very competitive and nothing wrong with that. You and I were lucky to have a HOF player in our first attempt (which is quite an achievement and something others would kill for (not literally (I hope))) and now we are spoilt rotten in that respect. I understand that doing tasks can feel like a chore. Remember, this league is supposed to be fun, and if it is too much at times, I do not shy away to push this 'welfare/pension' button.
