Girts sets PIM Record!

For Vancouver defender, Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts to be happy he usually has to be hitting something or someone.  In the locker room, the ice, or the local tavern he is usually apt to hit someone which makes a post-game trip to the tavern interesting to say the least.  

 

But!  A quick look at the All-Time penalty minute leading stats for Vancouver I see that in just 288 games our lovable defender Guntis is now the leader with 865 minutes in the box!  He passed former leader Henry Tucker (892). Guntis sits 9^th on all-time hits (934) and 7^th in blocked shots (576).  

 

At Guntis’s fight and PIM rate I don’t see his penalty minute record ever being reached.  He is a true gem and fan favorite in Vancouver and a menace on the ice to play against.  A quiet locker room guy but the ultimate teammate. 

 

 Congrats on the record @Girts and look forward to another great season.
