jacobcarson877 2,579
Well, we’re approaching the halfway point in Jillian Woods’ career, and while it has been pretty successful so far, there is still a ton of work to be done. She has been declared the best offensive defender, and the most improved in her second VHL season, after getting the most assists in her full VHLM season. Getting recognition for her efforts has certainly placed more fuel on the fire, and as the old guard continue to decrease in their roles and retire, Woods quickly works through her competitors, aiming to reach a point of undisputed dominance. She hopes to continue to grow in her role as a primary contributor for the perennially star-studded Moscow Menace, and as a leader off the ice. Longevity, and being able to carry her best form season to season, with emphasis on being a standout playoff performer, will be her next step in her development. She has personal battles to turn the tides on, both within the team, and among her rivals around the league. She will continue to push and challenge Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage’s position as the primary defender for the club. She’ll be doing the same against Maverick Goncalves for the most talented player among their draft class, particularly down the stretch. She has a record to recover against Davos, and her longtime rival Felicia Hardy. Particularly in the playoffs, Hardy seems to have always gotten the edge. And not to mention some of the other powerful players in her age group, particularly the exceptional class of defenders. She has work to do continuing to separate herself from other defenders in style, finding the best way to challenge historical precedents, season to season awards contention, and of course as many Continental Cups as possible. On the international stage, she won gold in her World Cup debut, despite a lackluster performance, and that winning record will be the expectation going forward for Team USA, and Jillian Woods. Jillian Woods has the capacity to be the best defender of her generation, and perhaps cement herself as one of the best defenders of all time. It will take careful management, good decision-making, and beneficial circumstances in order to secure this best of futures, but it certainly can be done. And so Woods will continue, with the support of her training staff, teammates, fans, family, and sheer force of will, and give herself every opportunity to fulfill her destiny. kirbithan, sadie and Scurvy 1 2 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/153865-career-reflection-jillian-woods/ Share on other sites
