Callum was thinking to do something special for his girlfriend Eilidh for their one month anniversary (apparently that is a thing). After a lot of um-ing and arr-ing, dismissing one hare-brained idea after the other, he finally came up with a plan.

He called his two-time-Continental-Cup champion-uncle Marcel.

'This is the answering machine of Marcel Janser. Please, leave your message after the 'beep'.'

'Uncle, we both know you do not have an answering machine and if you had, you would not bother to record a message. How are you?'

'Until twenty seconds ago I was just dandy. How are you and Eilidh doing? The shine still on?'

'Of course it is. So dad told you?'

'You betcha, eh! as they say in Calgary. So what's up?'

'I was wondering whether you could do us a favour.'

'Am I going to regret to have picked up the phone, nephew dearest?'

'I hope you won't see it that way, uncle.'

'Okay, make it quick I am just watching Laurel and Hardy and do not want to miss the best part.'

'Alright. So I remember you telling stories from the Army back in the old country.'

'Oh I talk a lot if the day is long, Cal. You need to be a bit more specific.'

'About you being in the air force as a Helo pilot.'

'Oh that bit. Yeah what about it?'

'Are you licensed to fly in the States?'

'Does a bear shit in the woods? I would be extra-ordinarily daft if I would not get the license here as well. In fact if I feel more bored than usual, I help the local fire department out in search and rescue as well as fire-fighting missions. Piece of cake.'

'Perfect. I was wondering whether you would give Eilidh and me a fly-over over Manhattan this weekend.'

'I guess I can squeeze you into my incredibly tight schedule of fishing, watching old movies and snoozing. Let me get a flight plan approved by ATC and I will pick you up on the Heli-pad by the Hudson. All going well, of course.'

'Of course. Thanks, uncle Marcel.'

ATC did approve and Marcel was true to his word and flew the couple around NYC. Reports of people wetting their pants due to a reckless, yet very skilled pilot buzzing the skyscrapers are unconfirmed and seem exaggerated.
